      this is by far the most confusing movie i have ever seen. i was understanding it until the end. someone needs to explain the ending

        I believe it has to do with the picture she draws near the beginning when she says that if they don’t do what is on the picture then what the picture shows never happened and they cease to exist from that point on or something. No matter what you do, the picture that they see the day before always shows what is going to happen (even if they interfere with it or try to change it) and therefore even though she tried changing it, it didn’t work. In other words she thought she could prevent everything that happened by warning herself (the day before) so that the last picture [the one with the police tape that they see before they go crazy] wouldn’t have happened if she had seen her warning the day before. The last picture right after the paper fell off the window was the one the inventor took two weeks before. Had the paper stayed there then the picture they would have seen the night before would have had the warning and nothing would have happened. Also it could be the picture they see the night before would have had the warning even after she’s arrested and she would have known the day before not to get caught (more likely) since I think she just wanted everything to go back to how it was by having never made the mistakes in the first place.
